About to finish the new Wheel of time book. I was worried when Jordan died, but I think Sanderson did an incredible job of it.

I hate the idea of an author taking over from someone I like, the only time I think it is acceptable is when the author dies mid book.

For the Wheel of Time, after nearly twenty years, the story needs to finish, so I'm glad someone is doing it. Plus he's basing it all on hours of audio and thousands of pages worth of notes left by Jordan.

IOV wrote:Been on a Stephen King binge lately, started off reading IT its good but I couldnt ever see me reading it again. I then moved on to The Shining and enjoyed it but im still in the process of reading Salems Lot and I have to say its the best read out of three I havent enjoyed a book this much in a while, maybe its because out of three its the only one I havent seen the film version.
Finished Salems Lot and I have to see I found it genuinly scary.
I have since read The Lovers by John Connolly which was a good read but then I enjoy all Connollys work and I started reading The Bourne Legacy last night by that guy with the long name I cant remember at this moment.

Just finished The Shadow of the Wind, which I thoroughly enjoyed, and so I picked up the follow up to it today, The Angels Game.

Re: What are you reading?
Got quite a few over xmas, so plenty to work through for the time being.
Still flicking through Sydney Crosby's first season in the NHL & Ken Shamrock's autobiography.
In the to do list
Andy McNab - Brute Force & Exit Wound
Frankie Boyle - My Shit life so far
Patrick Robinson - Diamondhead
McNab I've been reading for ages, Frankie Boyle should be a good laugh. Diamondhead was given to me by my grilfriend's dad. He's normally bang on the button for things like this.

I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell - by Tucker Max
I enjoyed reading this book, it was very funny. I commend Tucker's storytelling abilities, (whether they were true or not). Excellent title for the book too.
Although I do have to say, he is not a great writer he so often claims to be.

Yo,
I got a question for anyone who may know the answer. Does anyone know where I can find a copy of the 2002 film "Blood Work" starring Clint Eastwood or the book it was based on written by Micheal Connelly ?
Thanks for the assistance.

Re: What are you reading?
I finished ESPN's World Cup Companion in a day. Really good history lesson for me, seeing as how I know a lot about current football, but not a whole lot about football's past.
Now I've started on Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. A couple friends of mine read it and said they loved it and that it would be perfect for a stage adaptation.

I have just finished David Sedaris "When your engulfed in flames" and I have several of his other books I am about to begin reading, one at a time of course, not all at once...which I could do if I wanted.

Re: What are you reading?
Just finished Slash's book, I enjoyed his hell raising years a lot better than the last few chapters when he settled down a bit. The guy had a pretty crazy life. I'd love to read an Axl Rose book just to see if he writes the exact oposite of everything Slash did.
So now I'm going to start the Dark Tower series by Stephen King, I bought the first two books and they arrived at the weekend and I've heard good stuff about them so fingers crossed.

The first one is pretty tough to get through especially if you're a first time King reader......but once you get through it the rest go so easy and smooth...and they're quite good!!!!!

Like wise, I am currently reading the latest in novel in a norwegian detective series and the other says he was inspired by the guy who wrote Girl With A Dragon Tattoo, so I am taking that as a good sign.

Some really funny bits, as you'd expect from the Soccer Saturday man, but you'll only really appreciate this if you watch the show.
