Quick side note: I was playing "Do, Marry, Kill" last night with some friends, and Nic Cage came up. I said I'd marry him so that he could stay alive to continue making his movies. I love watching his movies. They are some of the worst things out there, but they're so hysterically bad.

I did, and there was nothing good besides that playing up there. Nothing that looked good to me, anyway. So I figured I'd give Avatar another watch to see what I thought a second time.

The Hurt Locker for the second time.

One of the most suspenseful films I've ever seen. Just as good watching it the second time, but I think I miss some of the meanings the director was trying to portray. I'm also still wondering what the meaning of the title of this movie is. I have an idea, but would like to hear others.

Pineapple Express

For some reason, I thought this movie wasn't going to be funny... But I was proved wrong. I laughed pretty hard at times. The comedy genre is benefiting tremendously with Seth Rogen's presence... And to think it all started with 40 Year Old Virgin, then followed up by Knocked Up and then the legendary Superbad.

The Book of Eli - not bad

A Fish Called Wanda - classic!

Edge of Darkness

Great film making, and superb acting from Mel Gibson. Highly recommended.

Legion

The concept of angels fighting with heavy artillery plus hand to hand combat is pretty awesome. The plot was okay, and I thought Tyrese made this movie a little more enjoyable to watch.

Book Of Eli
I quite enjoyed this film, Washington put in a good performance imo. Will definitely be watching again when it's on DVD.

The Boondock Saints 2

Everything I wanted it to be and more. Shit but totally awesome at the same time.

Edge of Darkness

Good. Great performance by Mel Gibson, glad they stayed with the original plot, but it doesn't even compare to the origninal version. Thought Ray Winstone was good but they dropped the ball with the Jedburgh character, and the ending of the original version was way better. But I enjoyed it all the same.

Frequency
Good stuff, I'm always a sucker for time-travel movies.

Inglorious Basterds
Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. The 2.5 hours just flew by. The opening scene and the scene in the basement were one of the tensest scenes I've ever watched.

Trick 'R Treat
Not bad, but seen it all before. Even though it was only 90 mins, it still felt about half an hour too long.

Solomon Kane- Good show, I dont have a notion about this film before I went in to watch it and was surprised at how much I enjoyed it

Lakeview Terrace

This wasn't bad at all. It had a very good script and contained good acting from Jackson. He's one bad ass villain in this movie... Although I do have to say it was a little uncomfortable watching someone be an asshole all film long, but I guess that was kind of the point of it.

Shutter Island

Outstanding film, minus the bad jump cuts/edits from time to time. The techniques that were used to make some of the horror sequences creepier made up for it.

It's a serious contender on my top movies list.

Perfect Getway - Pretty good

The Fountain- I take it this was Darren Aronofsky's flop before making the wrestler, I can see why its kind of mental but I enjoyed it without truly understanding it. Might have to watch it a second time

If you liked The Fountain,take a look at his first two films Pi and Requiem for a Dream. RFAD is excellent.

Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief

Complete crap. Awful. Stupid. Although I had a great time watching this movie in the beginning because it was so hilariously awful, the film actually picked up in the middle, which in turn, took away its entertainment value. With the material that they have, the script should have been a lot better.

I watched the Watchmen. So that answers that question. It was okay. Didn't really like the ending change.

My Best Friend's Girl

Very funny movie. Although some elements may have been influenced by the movie Hitch, it's actually the complete opposite of the film. A lot of quotes, one liners and catchphrases to remember too.

Bird on a wire - good, shame Goldie Hawn had to get old

Up - Was alright! dont really see all the hype about it! but its way better than that tripe Wall-E

Lots of meh. Kept finding myself wondering how long was left.

The Watchmen

Liked it despite how it was pointed out to me that some of the action is kind of over the top considering it's supposed to be about how ordinary people dressed up as costumed super heroes and not how people can kick each other across the room. It did help in articulating some of the points in the graphic novel that I was slightly misguided on though.

I also didn't think they could make the material anymore brutal but they sure accomplished that aspect. What comes to mind is the one part where Rorschach captured the guy who killed the kid, who pleaded with Rorschach and it was like, "Haha! Here come's Rorschach to... That's not burning him alive... Oh..."

She's Out of My League

This movie was alright, very funny at times. I'd give it a "hard" six out of ten... only because of Alice Eve's attractiveness.

Alice in Wonderland

Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, and Anne Hathaway were all great. Great movie for the kids, but this film's not really for me. However, I did find myself very attracted to Hathaway's performance for some reason... She was hot and eccentric!

Gangs of New York

I've been following the Scorsese/DiCaprio duo, and this film, although not better than The Departed, was still phenomenal, especially with Day-Lewis' performance. I heard there were a lot of cuts in this movie to bring the running time down... I would love to see the original/intended version some day. After watching The Departed, Shutter Island and now Gangs of New York, I've been able to pick up some similarities and some intricate details of these artist's work. Pretty cool stuff.
