Agreed. I only caught about the last half hour of it, but that looked to be the most exciting part of the match. Great finish there.

I wonder what odds you would have got on 3 games ending 6-0 this weekend in the prem, I guess todays was the biggest suprise.

A friend of mine got 50-1 odds for chelsea to win 6-0, but he only had 2 euro down. I can only imagine what the odds for the Newcastle result would have been.

Leeds took over 1000 to Watford today, which is a much longer trip.

Left happy this time though! Very Happy

Hartlepool brought 50 fans to us for a mid week rearranged game, a much further journey and would have required a half day at work. The biggest difference between the two is that we charge a reasonably admission charge. I wouldn't be surprised if spurs charged them over £40 for a ticket, a price I would never pay.

What the hell is going on with Everton? I understand they're usually slow starters, but this is ridiculous. I also understand that Cahill was out yesterday and Rodwell is out, but again....this is ridiculous. Are we really no better than West Ham?

So I just read an article on the insane debts that European football clubs are in. It's absolutely ridiculous. In my opinion, they should enact a salary cap ala the NFL. Set a maximum that you can spend on wages or transfer funds, league wide. Obviously this will never happen because it will be a "terrible" thing for the bigger clubs that they are only allowed to spend as much as the relegation squads, but it would surely help to stop the bleeding.

This gets brought up about once a month in football. Almost everyone agrees its a good idea, therefore FIFA are against it.

Michel Platini is also for reducing debts and preventing clubs for competing over their means, so he is therefore an English hating cheese eating surrender monkey. Eh? scratch

No he's a cunt, he only seems to have a problem with the English teams spending beyond their means but it is seemingly alright to be hundreds of millions in debt and still splash the cash if you are Barca or Real Madrid. I dont remember Platini speaking out against the Italian teams doing the same in the 80's and early 90's,maybe thats because he was one of the first players to profit from that windfall.

I agree with the mans ideas but he has to shower the same condemnation around Europe and not just save it for the Premiership.

Fair enough, these days I focus more on the Johnstone's Paint Trophy than the Champions League.

As much as I was enjoying seeing the Reds struggle this year, I think this is the best possible thing for them. Obviously everyone will make a fuss over this because it's just another case of Yanks taking over the club. But these guys took over the Red Sox in 02, a team with so much history, and two years later had brought them their first World Series ring since 1918. They respect the tradition and history of the club, and as much as it pains me to say it, I think there are top 4 finishes again in the near future for Liverpool.
