Yup, true story. Guess he'll get involved with DX in some way. He's set to debut at the January 4th Raw.

It's official, huh? I demand proof.
All I've read, via 411mania.com and nodq.com that it's been speculated that Bret has signed a short-term deal with WWE. I don't think it's offical yet, though...

He can't wrestle and wasn't much on the mike IMO so I'm very meh about this.
Also it would have been nice not to have had this surprise spoiled...

This is going to be interesting to say the least. I'm pretty surprised at Bret considering that HHH and HBK are pretty much running things on Raw.

Funny but you say it's meh but you wanted to it to be a surprise? That's retarded you can't have it both ways.

Bret Hart is no match for HHH.
HHH is better than him.
HHH is younger than him.
And HHH is bigger than him... IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE.

I think a feud with Vince is more likely than anything to do with DX.

You're really expecting Bret to wrestle a catch-as-catch-can style of match at his age? He's in no shape to do this, I'd imagine. But hey, look at how good Steamboat did earlier this year. Who knows what Bret can do? Only Bret does.
Also, to whoever said Bret was "meh" on the mic? I'd love to hear why you say this. I thought Bret was one of the better guys on the mic, especially for a guy who didn't rely on being funny or having a real gimmick.

I think the DX aspect wikll be a big thing - they're scheduled to work with the Hart Dynasty next, which would be a logical thing for him to be involved with if he's changed his "no storyline stuff if I come back" mentality.
Also, the contract stretches to Wrestlemania, so I could see that ending with him being behind a screwjob finish on Michaels to get the Dynasty the titles then.

Bret physically can not wrestle anymore.
Other than the El Dandy promo in WCW I can't remember any promos that he did that were anything special, and the fact that only the El Dandy one sticks out speaks volumes.

He could always cry about Montreal a bit more. He's quite good at that.

Yeah Bret's physically fucked up.
He probably couldn't put on a match, don't think he has any intentions to wrestle one either.

I thought the ellipses was enough to show sarcasm. And if not that, then the rolling of the eyes surely should have done the trick...

Your sarcasm made it seem like you think the idea for him having a feud with Vince is a really dumb thing, basically over the fact that Bret and Vince can't have a catch-as-catch-can classic. What do you want for Bret to do IF he comes back, feud with Hornswoggle, Matt Hardy, and The Hurricane? That'll bring in ratings, that's for sure.

he won't wrestle, though. That's the point. Certainly not enough for an iun-ring feud.
IIRC he has the same post-concussion syndrome as Nowinski, coupled with over 10 years out of the ring and a much-stated intention to only come back to say thank you, nothing storyline-wise.
Now sure, the ast bit is obviously out, but that was just his choice - the rest is physical. The most you'll probably see is some sort of mild interference and maybe a spot in a team match a la legends v Y2J this year so you get a few quick moves and a sharpshoter. That will be your lot.

Bret wont wrestle at all. get that out of your minds!
It is cool to have him back for whatever reason it is. Would be great if there was some sort of DX and Bret Hart thing. Where is RAW gonna be on January 4th?

I think it's possible for Bret to have a match, but it'd be more of a brawl than anything. nodq.com reported that he might have signed a short-term deal which would begin in January, ending in April, which would have him having a match with Vince. I wouldn't care about the match, but I'd love to see what they'd do with a possible Bret and DX storyline, considering they'd probably go there.

Bret was always obsessed wih having a great match, so I very much doubt he'd go out and have a mediocre brawl. He'd feel it tarnish his legacy.

I'll disagree that he carried everyone to their greatest matches, but he certainly did help. Davey Boy Smith, Owen Hart, Stone Cold, HBK, 123 Kid, Mr. Perfect, Roddy Piper. All those guys you could make a case that their best match or matches in their career were against the Hit Man. Bret Hart had a good chemistry with just about everyone he worked with, I think that tells you a lot about how good he was at telling a story in the ring.
Stig, you honestly think that Bret never had a great match?

I'm not trolling; I genuinely think Bret's crap. Just like I believe Kurt Angle to be overrated.
