If anyone else has a PS3 and can help me out, it would be greatly appreciated. Here's the rundown of what's happening with my system:
I was playing FIFA Soccer 09 and in the middle of a match, the sound started going weird. The commentary completely cut-out, then the crowd sounds were going in and out. I paused the game and went to check audio settings. When I pressed to go into audio settings, the game stopped. However, it didn't freeze. The audio settings page didn't come up, but the camera was still panning around the stadium like it does in the pause menu. So I tried to turn off the system with my controller. After about 10 seconds after pressing "Turn off system", the PS3 beeped 3 times in quick succession. Then I had to just hold down on the power until it finally shut off.
I have tried playing FIFA maybe 3 or 4 more times since then, and it does the same thing every time. It also happened playing Madden 10, so it's not just the game. And yes, I just downloaded the newest system update, so it's not that. However, there is no "yellow light of death" or anything.
I've had some people say that that means that my blu-ray player is about to give out. Someone told me to clean that out, but I don't want to buy the cleaner if that's not going to fix the problem.
Can anyone help me out?
