So I just got an Xbox 360...

Post  ThatChumpStain on Sun Feb 22, 2009 12:12 pm

Basically I'm just after ideas of what would be good games to buy for it, I have Smackdown vs Raw 2008 for it but I'm in the mood to go on a rampage in GameStation and get some can't-miss games. Also, I bought it from my little brother and the deal was to get two games with it but I didn't know which so he's borrowed me Alone In The Dark, Just Cause, Dead Rising and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 so I need to pick two of those to keep as well. Recommendations, advice, all sought after pleasethankyoutaverymuchly.

    I'd recommend:

    GTA:IV
    Saints Row
    Saints Row 2
    Fifa 09

I know some people say Saints Row is just a GTA clone, but I still think it's a good game & I've had more fun playing it than GTA.

Saints Row IS a GTA clone but because GTA 4 went with gritty and realistic rather than the mad (if demented) fun of previous titles I'd say Saints Row is more fun now. That said don't get Saints Row and Saints Row 2, get the 2nd.

Of your brother's titles I would keep Dead rising. It's got a bit of a learning curve and it's a tricky game but it's TREMENDOUS fun Smile

Rainbow 6 - 2 is a top game, you should keep that!

COD 4, Mass Effect, Quantum of Solace, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Time Shift and Incredible Hulk are all games that I have really enjoyed on the 360.

Dead Rising and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 without a doubt. Dead Rising is an awesome zombie game with a lot of dark humor and a great atmosphere. Plus the ability to use virtually anything as a weapon is so satisfying. Rainbow Six is a great tactical shooter, although if you really like run n' gun style, it may not be for you but out of that list I'd take it.

Some great games they are really cheap right now and some of the best 360 games are Mass Effect, probably THE best looking game on the 360. It also has some of the best storyline elements involving a player I've seen and the gameplay is decent (Although the driving and exploration portions are somewhat tedious). Another is Gears of War, the original. Very gory but fun game and currently they repackaged it as the "Refresh" version giving you all the DLC maps for free. I've also heard great things about Bioshock, I still haven't opened my copy yet, but it's cheap as well right now.

Some pretty pricey titles include the wastleland survival game Fallout 3, one of my top favorites now of all time, a great RPG that follows a similar path to another great RPG on the 360 Oblivion. Both are enormous and you could easily hit 100 hours in each (I have). Halo 3 of course is a staple.

And a few quickies, Burnout Paradise (Great racing, arcadey fun), The Orange Box (5 games in one, 3 are Half-Life but Portal and Team Fortress 2 are great additions), Assassin's Creed (Stealth-based game), and Dead Alive 4 (Not a deep fighter, but fast, frenetic, and ultimately fun).

Depends what you like, or if you have other systems. I like playing Gears of War 2, Rock Band/Guitar Hero, and I've been told Bioshock and Dead Space are fantastic. If in doubt, get GTA IV.

I'd definitely recommend Bioshock as a game to get. I played it twice, back to back, and found it to be equally fun both times.

What does owning a PS3 have to do with it? Bioshock is on PS3.

Agree with this if for no other reason than you will NEVER see a better example of how badly an AI system can ass-rape you if you're about to win Razz
