    hey guys i just bought a nintendo DS lite from a flea market. was looking online and some places say you need a memory card some say you dont. i go to places like future shop online and i dont even see memory cards for it. so do i need one?

    No you dont. I didn't even think that there was a slot for a memory card. The game is saved to the cartridge.

    Maybe I'm thinking of the PSP, but I seem to remember using a memory card. I've seen the cards that suit the DS on eBay and Amazon. Maybe it's an optional extra for things like ROMs and MP3s.

    My lass has got one, no memory card. I think you are thinking of the PSP.

    My old man got a DS for Christmas. And my sister got him one of those Micro SD memory cards & an adaptor so it'll fit into the cartridge slot & he can have many, many games all on one cartridge, if you know what I mean. Wink

    So I think to answer the original question, no you don't need a memory card, but you can use one if you so desire.

    yeah i figured out i didnt need one. had hoped the hells kitchen game would be good but it wasnt. and raw vs sd 2009 sucks on there. waste of money :s

    The new DSi has a slot for SD Memory cards for photos and videos, but they're not essential for games.
