With 09' ahead of us, which games are you looking forward to in the upcoming year?

Obviously Resident Evil 5 is huge for a few of us here on the boards and will be coming out, much like RE4, near my b-day, so I'm very much looking forward to it. The demo was released in Japan and preliminary reports say that it's much like RE4 in gameplay, but I have no qualms with that. RE4 was a very solid game.

Also, Arkham Asylum looks very promising. I'm not sold on the gameplay aspects since they haven't said much on it, but presentation looks very engrossing.

Halo 3:ODST looks okay. I'm not excited quite yet for it.

Did you play "The Sky Is Falling" expansion pack Dave?

I just saw trailers for Street Fighter IV and King of Fighters XII and both look pretty awesome although I'm hoping KoF expands the roster a bit.

Resident Evil 5. My brother has convinced me to take a day off on its release so we can get straight into the online stuff. The next call of duty (modern warfare 2) apparently around xmas so I've heard.

    A few additions...

    - Splinter Cell: Conviction - Reboot as the Borne series
    - Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2: Fusion - Hells yes.
    - Alan Wake - Possibly see Max Payne 3 before this, but always a chance...
    - The Witcher for 360 - It's gotten a lot of hype for the PC and it's coming to the 360 and there seems to be few RPGs, compared to last year (Fable II, Fallout 3), of note coming out so it's nice to see this title dropping possibly this year.

    Dude, sweet!

I haven't heard anything about this one yet - got any links/details?

I'm assuming Galactus is involved, going off the last game's ending. That said, and given the fact the X-Men stuff is kept separate for their games, there's a slight limit to the available villains left - I mean, half-decent ones off the top of my head:

    Abomination?
    The Hand?
    Red Skull?
    Iron Monger?
    Merlyn?
    Mole man?
    Green Goblin?
    Kingpin?
    Annihilus?
    Scorpio?
    Kree?
    Dire Wraiths?
    The Fury?

There hasn't been any official word recently since last year's E3 so I suspect we'll be hearing a lot more sooner. I did hear something that it's scrapping the previous storyline and supposed to conjoin a bunch of different storylines from the comic book universe but that's speculative.

The Fusion part is supposed to be that two characters can combine their powers for specific effects, which just sounds like they're upgrading combos from X-Men: Legends.

They released a picture last year of Iron Man and Sue Storm combing their powers as an example of how rhe Fusion thing would work, the games out in June, looking good.

Couldn't really be anyone else. There was a riot when he wasn't picked to voice Joker in The Batman Razz

Conroy as Batman is a great scoop too Smile

Joker's monologue about how he tortured Robin in the Batman Beyond movie is one of the scariest things ever written for a cartoon!

The Mass Effect Continues in 2010
    02.03.2009

    BILLY YOUNG
    NEWS REPORTER

    Mass Effect

Electronic Arts announced today during a conference call that Mass Effect 2 will be releasing in the fourth quarter of the upcoming fiscal year, which is from January 2010 through March 2010. Though the consoles it will be available on was not announced, it is assumed that the game will be released on the Xbox 360 and PC platforms, where the original was released.

There will most likely be new light shed on this title during March's Game Developer's Conference, where the game design is planned to be talked about. On top of this, with Electronic Arts already listed as an exhibitor at E3, it is even more likely that at least some footage will be shown between June 2 and 4.

Mass Effect 2 time frame announced... early- to mid-2010.

Not surprising considering the game hasn't had any details yet. I personally just got back into the first Mass Effect.

I don't think they'll be able to keeping the trilogy on the 360 hope alive, but maybe they'll make good on their promise on more DLC content for the first one whilst the other is in development.
