The return of Christian to WWE - *May Contain Spoilers*

Post  Lex on Sat Nov 15, 2008 6:32 pm

If, and it is still a apparently an 'if' (albeit it a highly likely one), Christian returns to WWE, how would you like it to happen and who would you like him face?

Teaming with Edge would be an obvious one, as would a feud with Edge. There's also the possibility of a return for Tomko, which could also be pretty awesome.

However I'd just like him to debut at the Royal Rumble and have him as a surprise entrant, because I think if they had the 'CHRISTIAN Opera Theme' blast out at the Rumble then I for one would mark out like I haven't done in years!!

That's certainly the best way to bring him back. I mean, hell, even I marked at the surprise Cena entry this year, just because it was a case of "I can't believe it's him!".

For me, keep him heel, and bring him into ECW to feud with Hardy for the title to start with. Gives him someone with history, a chance to drop a title on him early to help get him over with the fans who don't remember him, and given the inevitable Edge v Jeff matches on SD, a good excuse to bring in Hardy's v E+C as a possible WM match.

I'd love to see him feud with HBK but I don't see that happening frankly.

ECW is more likely as Gari says, leading into an E&C v Hardyz re-run which they would hopefully use to embroil a few other teams in to make the tags seem more important again (Miz & Morrison are the obvious pair - maybe even Simply Precious and Kofi/Punk)

It would be great to have him return at the Royal Rumble as a random entrant.

They are always the best returns as you dont know they are gonna happen.

I think that Edge and Christian could return at the same Pay-Per-View but I think that the WWE should stop short of re-uniting them as a team. Ideally, a third man (Tomko perhaps?) should be used so that Edge can remain main event level star whilst Christian works with Tomko to establish himself at that level too.

I think it would be cool to have him return and ignore Edge all awhile Edge gets frustrated as hell trying to talk to him and getting him to team up. This could be a fresh angle and have a huge lead up to see if they reunite or turn on each other.

If they did run with that it'd have to be the other way round - Edge is a main event star now and they can't have him losing face by wanting to hang out with an upper mid-carder and being ignored.

    Nice idea though.

If he does pop up in the WWE, surely they'll make him Face at the start. Then as usual the hype dies down and then make a complete bastard heel out of him.

They could even use Save_Us.CHR15714N videos to reintroduce him.

Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer reports that Travis Tomko has re-signed with WWE.

I know Travis visited a WWE Smackdown/ECW show in Atlanta after leaving TNA and spoke with John Laurinaitis then, and I understood he had visited other shows since. Travis had hoped for a regular spot in Japan, and was thinking of getting into MMA but neither happened.

TNA had initially left the door open to use him again and did once but creative had soured on using him for future dates due to issues when he was under contract.

No info on when he might start.

Obviously this will fuel speculation he will join Christian Cage again in WWE.

And that, my friends, came from wrestlezone.com

Could be a good idea. Edge, Christian and Tomko plus one other maybe? Not sure who else though. Kendrick has the right sort of attitude, but Tomko already has the Enforcer role, so there would be no space for Jackson. Hawkins and Ryder are useless and would do more harm than good. Chavo has the bodyguard issue. Maybe MVP if he's allowed to stop being a glorified jobber any time soon.

I think Kendrick would be spot on, actually. The current push seems to have stalled a little at the moment, so knowing Vince he'll probably abandon it soon and split them. But he would be at the right sort of level for the "4th guy" role - someone with talent who just needs something to help him get noticed as a solo guy

Screw it, bring Jackson in too and have him and Tomko tag together. Give Edge a body guard too and make a gimmick of it.

As long as I get to see Edge and Christian left they could put Hornswoggle in it.

I think it was Matt Hardy for sure.

Either would be good but I would like to see a proper fued between the Hardy's.

Not the one we got in 2001. It was too short and their match was very mat based plus it was more about Lita than the sibling rivalry almost.

The only other reason they're pulling this one out long is Christian methinks. They'll let it go if they can't sign Christian.

It's Christian. From what I remember fans hated the Matt v Jeff feud. I don't see them heading down that road for a very long time, if ever again. CHRISTIAN!!!!!

    Spoiler:
As much as I'd have loved them to see the bigger picture, unfortunately WWE has always been and will always be of the mentality that if you leave them to go to another company - you're going to pay for it when you come back for a while at least. Total waste.

    Spoiler:
I can see the logic - if they've only just finalised the return contract, then they had to pull the trigger on the Jeff angle, and the main event pictures are roughly in place for WM, so they either waited another month, or they found another way to bring him in at a credible level. This way he's in a belt picture, and if he's screwed over(the only credible defeat for such a fan-favourite return), then there's the MITB match to slip him into - have him win that, reunite with Edge in a tag match, then when Edge is lying beaten in the ring, grab the ref and cash in. Instant feud to boot
