Ok... what were the Argentianian FA smoking when they made this decision because I want some!

I'd laugh if Argentina failed to qualify for the World Cup.

Apparently Maradona is thinking about making Javier Mascherano his new captain.

Very good decision he's one of the best in the world in his position and i always think it makes sense to have your captain in the centre of the field

Maradona shall only be the figure head i feel, they will surrond him with smart people and Diego will take the plaudits or flak depending on the results

I hope they do well Argentina are wonderfull to watch when on form and Maradona is a legend, in name only to most of us but a legend none the less

I don't think there will be any middle-ground with this appointment. Will either work a dream or crash and burn in familiar Maradona style. Personally I wish him well. Despite his flaws I have a lot of time for Maradona. Considering the circumstances in which his playing career finished it'd be nice to see him fashion a great Argentina side. They showed at the last World Cup that they benefit any tournament when they are playing well.

Maradona should keep Javier Zanetti as captain, as he's a good leader & quality player.
