    Fifa or PES

Post  showstealer on Fri Oct 24, 2008 1:04 pm

I've been a PES fan since '98 when Fifa release a game that was best described as criminal. But apparently 2008 was the year when Fifa finally overtook PES. I disagree after playing Fifa last year but can see why people weren't too keen on last years PES, the tackling for example wasn't as good as it was previously and it was a lot easier to run at a defence and a score. Also, the free kick system hasn't improved for about 10 years.

Ahh the age old debate FIFA or PES......im a PES man myself but i have played FIFA '09 and it is very good a lot better than the shite the consistently put out for years, i think that Pro Evo hasnt really changed too much for the past 2 or 3 years and they really need to get their fingers out on this one or people will start to go back to FIFA

This years and last years FIFA were much better than PES, but PES was far batter before that.

I liked FIFA ROTW 98! I felt it went downhill after that.

    I'm a PES man.

I used to only buy PES for a few years but the last couple have been pretty poor in my view, not sure I'll get this years version.Got FiFA 09 just over a week ago and really starting to enjoy it.

That was shite! Although the qualifying mode kicked ass!

Fifa 97 with the indoor mode was the last one I enjoyed before swapping to PES, I will have to give fifa a look again though.

I still have the original FIFA International Soccer about somewhere Smile I've always been a FIFA person but I'd agree that PES has more realism. Still, give me a wire to have my old Mega Drive working again and I'll be FIFA all the way!

Ive played Fifa 08 a couple of times, not played the 09 version yet but I'm told its a improvement on the last few Fifa games...till Ive played Fifa 09, Ill say Pro Evo shades it at the moment. TBH I'm more into my footy management games...roll on FM 09 Very Happy

RTWC (sorry for earlier spelling) had indoor mode too. Can't believe they got rid of that!

I've always been a FIFA man tbh. No matter how good the game engine is, it just doesn't seem as much fun if you don't have the full teams. It still kinda annoys me the way you have a dutch team in there with none of the real players.

Been on FIFA 09 this year & really liking it. Think some of the fouls are getting a little sensitive. OK in previous years, it's been nigh on impossible getting free kicks of pens, but this year, any fast player running in to the penalty area seems like all you've gotta do is run into a guy & you get a pen. Also the red cards are very sensitive this year. Only played 5 games of so but already been given a ton of pens & played 2 games where I've had 2 guys sent off. Overall really like it though.
