I checked the site out last week and it was still there but I suspect either the hosting has now run out or there's been some sort of server error which in all probability won't be fixed.
You need to change your sig.![]()
I want the old forums back too.![]()
What sig?
The old forums were great but without the main site there's no way that we could reach that level ofpopularity again. IMO the forums of 2002-2005 before the first meltdown were a total one off that couldn't be repeated.

And now the end is near........ - Thu Oct 29, 2009 10:06 am
And so I face the final curtain
My friend I'll say it clear
I'll state my case of which I'm certain
I've lived a life that's full
I traveled each and every highway
And more, much more than this
I did it my way.
---------------------------------
Well guys, been holding off on this for a while but figured the time was right to break the news. Next June, all being well, I'm gonna be a dad for the first time. Happy doesn't get close to how I'm feeling right now but there's a wee bit of sadness in there as well. Sadness in the sense that as a dad to be with a near 4 year old step-daughter already taking up loads of my time, I don't really have time for Smash or indeed wrestling in general at the moment.
There won't be any grand deactivating of my account, nor am I actually 'leaving the board' like so many others in the past but my presence will be greatly reduced aroud these here parts, as it has been already sicne the summer. I've got priorities now that have taken over surfing the 'net and Smash for hours on end. Between my family, my job and my refereeing I have very little time for anything else and if I'm honest I'm a different person from this time last year, and that's not just because I bought FIFA 10 instead of PES for the first time since 2000, last week. I've grown up, I've moved out of the parental home, I've bought a car (Which has just been written off because a daft cow ran into the back of me last Friday. Bitch) and most importantly I've learned how to live without you guys in my life.
I've had a lot of fun on here in the last 7 and a bit years and met some terrific people and had some great bevvies with some great friends, all because of this board. This place used to be great and it'd be nice if it coud get close to that again but I just don't have the time or effort needed for that to happen which is why I'm stepping back. I'm sure Garibald will keep things going and push on with some new ideas we'd been discussing but I'll leave him to update you on that.
So, in conclusion and in the words of my favourite, bearded, scottish comedian:
Fuck off and leave me alone! ![]()
Sir Bobby Robson. - Fri Jul 31, 2009 6:19 pm
ShowStealer wrote:I'm feeling very empty right now and he had nothing to do with Charlton. He always came across as such a great and kind man, his enthusiasm for football was second to non, even in his 70s. It was only last weekend that he was at a match in his wheel chair, raising money for his cancer trust. Even in his last days he was putting others before himself. Sadly his kind are a rarity in this day.
I would echo this entirely. I don't think there is anyone in football who I would have more admiration for that isn't associated wth Celtic. I've often told BoD how Bobby was my favourite non-Celtic person in football. An enormous loss to the game in this country.

I can't say I'm upset about his death, he was overrated anyway.
From the MJ thread:The Stig wrote:He's a global icon who should be respected for his contributions to the world. I sense it might just be jealousy that nobody will care when you're gone.
And when he's not contradicting himself, Stig likes to pretend he's Michael Schumacher...
Ummm, his Misawa post was a parody of Sweatsock's Michael Jackson post.
Really? I don't recall questioning Michael Jackson's ability at any point?

Cheap shot Stig, would have expected better from you. Your post shows how limited your knowledge of Misawa is so no point in debating it with you.

Big Bossman & Bull Buchanan

Power and Glory maybe? Always thought they were a decent heel team, although Roma was beyond bland. Other than that I'm a wee bit stumped as well, pretty sure i'll have missed an obvious one though.

Jericho has done this before with the IC belt. I remember a picture of him appearing in Powerslam magazine wearing the light-heavyweight belt at an MSG house show because he forgot his IC belt.

New PPV Concept? - Sun May 31, 2009 10:20 pm
zhukov wrote:I've been all for a couple of themed PPVs for a while, as there are far too many PPVS and that results in matches being re-done. It worked very well with New Years Revolution/ No Way Out being the Elimination Chamber PPV (Granted One Night Stand gets awful buyrates), not that the names really mean anything, but it is a bit strange to change the name of one of the familiar PPVs in Unforgiven if the reports are to be believed.
Whilst 3 of them in one night was probably a bit too much, I quite liked the idea of the Championship scrambles, I think if you did as with last year and put a few random people in it you could be onto a winner, a PPV that in theory is far less predictable than your normal monthly show
Don't talk common sense. We all know WWE is the exact place where common sense somes unstuck.

I'd prefer tactically astute tbh, although I do think it's important we get someone who understands the culture of not only Celtic but Scotland in general.

Didn't get at ext but yes I did jump about like a crazy person until the guy in front of me, who had the radio on, told me nothing had happened.
Credit to the Rangers fans for coming up with it. Also well done to their team who over the last 3-4 months have proven themselves to be far more deserving champions.

Was gonna post this in the morning but not sure I'll have time before I head to my last game as a season ticket holder at Celtic Park:
The final day will fast approach,
we'll rely on Lennon to be our coach.
Always remember to keep the faith,
until in the end the league is safe.
The flag is flying in the Paradise breeze,
let's take on the Hearts and win with ease.
We'll keep it there for another year,
in every huns eye we'll see a tear.
So come on United and come on the 'tic,
lets make these Rangers bastards sick.
Here We Go, 4 In A Row!
Faithful Through And Through
Believe.

New PPV Concept? - Mon May 18, 2009 9:22 pm
Shaunj4 wrote:The idea of a gimmick-oriented pay-per-view is nothing new for pro wrestling. And, as WWE looks for ways to boost interest in its non-major events, it appears it has found another concept for which it believes fans will shell out pay-per-view dollars.
The new idea, according to a report on PWInsider.com, is for a card entirely comprised of submission matches. WWE sent out a mailing list survey this morning, asking fans to give their input on a number of potential name ideas for the card.
The name suggestions:
WWE Total Submission
WWE Submission Sunday
WWE Breaking Point
WWE Submit & Quit
Kind of like the idea. The crowd should be into the numerous submission attempts.
Maybe in two or three matches but after that the effect will wear off. A match based around submission needs to have a strong basis in psychology and storytelling and the diluted WWE style these days just doesn't allow for that.
