Inception - Once this movie starts playing, it's hard to not sit back and watch, sooooo good. Any time I run over to my parents' house to do laundry, I turn on their cable and it's on. That being said, the movie is brilliant.

Bronson - Nicholas Winding Refn's movies are so fun to watch, he reminds me of Kubrick but he's got his own style, too. And Tom Hardy's performance is great. To anyone who is hesitant on how he will be as Bane in "The Dark Knight Rises," watch this.

Spoiler: Mark Henry. - Sun Nov 20, 2011 11:11 pm

It does make sense as of RIGHT NOW, but do you honestly see Taker winning the belt, or competing for the belt? I sure don't.

I still say Taker will face someone like HHH, again. HHH even teased it last year in the promo after Wrestlemania 27. Doesn't mean much, but still, I see it being a better possibility than Taker/Henry for the belt.

Spoiler: Mark Henry. - Sun Nov 13, 2011 12:33 am

I highly doubt it, personally. It looks more like they're building towards a Bryan/Henry feud, which would disappointing to me, but if Bryan wins the belt, I'm for it. I dunno who else would be a good guy for Taker to face, though. I really think it'd be HHH again, but I could also see it being Punk or possibly Sheamus.

Equilibrium - It was okay. Christian Bale was really good, though. Decent concept for a movie, but some if it wasn't executed well enough (Taye Diggs, in particular).

50/50 - Excellent! Great performance from Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and this does a great job of mixing comedy with drama, without going too dark or too stupid.

The Tree of Life - Pretty good but maybe not as good as I was expecting. It's one of the few movies where you have everything you need for a good film (acting, direction, writing, cinematogrpahy), but I just couldn't get into it. Pitt's performance was really good, though, I preferred him in this over Moneyball.

Drive- Excellent stuff, probably the best movie I've seen this year, although I haven't seen much. Gosling is fantastic as well as Albert Brooks. I'm surprised it was as good, the trailers made it look like your run-of-the-mill action flick, but the reviews for it were fantastic. Highly recommended.

Moneyball- Great. I'm also a baseball nut, so I'm a bit biased. I loved the idea of highlighting a baseball team with a low budget just because a lot of people think of the high budgets being successful (Yankees, Red Sox, Phillies). I could've done without the last ten minutes, and a useless piece of information towards the end, but overall, great.

Warrior- Awesome. I'm quickly becoming a Tom Hardy fan, and Edgerton was great, as well. But it's really Nick Nolte who holds this together, and I'm rooting for him to score an Oscar nomination, and if he does get nominated, I'm rooting for him to win. A truly heartbreaking performance. The MMA scenes were shot very well, too.

More releases and a retirement - Mon Nov 22, 2010 9:26 pm

I don't think that McIntyre will lose his job. He's got a huge upside to him, and one of the main reasons I feel Tiffany was fired was due to her domestic dispute (albeit with Drew, but it sounded like it was her fault) with McIntyre.

Sad to see Gallows go, but I guess it was hard to find something for him after the SES broke up.

Dinner for Schmucks - Lot funnier than I imagined it would be, really, which made it worth it. Steve Carrell's performance reminded me of his work in Anchorman, which to me, is hilarious. Good stuff.

Daniel Bryan (Bryan Danielson) released from WWE...? - Sat Jun 12, 2010 10:21 pm

Several sources are reporting that Daniel Bryan was released by WWE for going too far beyond the WWE PG standard during the NXT assault on last Monday's Raw. The main issue was his choking of Justin Roberts with Justin's own tie, which goes against a rule put in place after the Benoit tragedy: you cannot use ropes or other objects to choke your opponents.

The decision was made on Friday and Bryan was informed shortly before the release was made public. All signs point to this not being a work, although some wrestlers in the company believe it is.

It is not known if Bryan was aware of the choking rule when the angle took place. On WWE's YouTube channel, the video of the incident still shows the choke.

Credit: PWInsider

If he's really fired, that's bullshit. I can kinda understand why they want everything toned down a little more nowadays, what with WWE being PG, Linda running for office...but seriously? So, I guess, HHH hitting people with sledgehammers, Sheamus hitting people with pipes, and Cena choking Orton with a chain last year to win a match is okay then...

I personally think this is a work. Thoughts?

Jack Swagger is awesome, I honestly didn't mind him winning it. Just the timing is kinda weird, seeing as he was irrelevant for quite a while on Raw. Kinda like Sheamus was whenever he won the belt.

WWE NXT Thread - Thu Feb 25, 2010 11:48 am

So, after watching the debut episode, and I'll try to keep the spoilers to a minimum, but I was pretty impressed with what this show has to offer. I mean, of course it'll make the IWC happy *gasps* to have Daniel Bryan (Bryan Danielson) be one of the main stars of the program, but I think this show could do really well. What I like about it is the fact that it's obviously a fresh show, seeing as it just debuted, but this show will help develop new stars and that is what wrestling fans have been craving for in the past couple years. I like this idea over a new guy being thrust into Raw or Smackdown and automatically we have to find some way to react to them.

Any thoughts on the show? Well, first off, has anyone seen it yet?

Punk was great, and the lecturing had to stop when it did really to avoid it getting old, but he did go earlier than he needed to, Beth was a nice curveball, good to see a few guys from the lower card getting a little time in there and some of them certainly didn't look out of place, but the rest seemed a little by the book...

With Cena's injury and the rumours of Batista retiring this year, it did seem that once it came down to them that the winner was telegraphed (and, I have to agree, rushed) and unless Jericho takes a title belt at Elimination Chamber then it's also a waste of a WM match with real potential. Was also surprised given his recent work with Swagger that Santino didn't get in there, even if just for a few momoents of comedy

Santino reportedly suffered like a head injury or something on Raw last week.

Where are you getting your rumors about Batista retiring from...? I've heard nothing about it.

The Rumble was awesome. CM Punk is the man, it sucks that he got tossed by HHH. And Beth Phoenix eliminating Khali was amazing.

Watched Avatar again because there was nothing else good playing at the theaters. For a further opinion, yep, it's still awesome. But not perfect. ****

(500) Days of Summer I absolutely loved this. Awesome script, one of the better of 2009 and Gordon-Levitt's performance was great. And I do not have a problem in looking at Zooey Deschanel (sp?) either, so this is good to me. ****.

Royal Rumble **May Contain Spoilers** - Tue Jan 19, 2010 5:23 am

There are many scenarios for this, and it's hard to really figure what's going to go down following the Rumble at this point. My likely scenarios:

HBK wins the Rumble, and gets his shot at Taker. Taker vs. HBK main event? I'm down with that.
HHH wins the Rumble, faces Sheamus. I think he's going to wrestle Sheamus for the belt anyway.
Cena wins the Rumble, ends up facing Batista after he wins the belt at Elimination Chamber. Cena vs. Batista is a money making main event, I wouldn't mind seeing it. Batista's very likely to be in the chamber match.

I honestly can't see the likes of Kofi, Jericho, Big Show, or Morrison winning it. Kofi is either going to be a MITB guy, and he'd probably win, or he could be in a big match with Cena somehow and get the rub. That'd be kinda cool. Kofi or Morrison are the 2 best candidates for MITB, in my opinion. And I think Jericho will be freed up for Edge, if he's healthy enough.

Another scenario could be Punk winning (highly unlikely), and Rey beating Taker at the Rumble or at Elimination Chamber. Very unlikely, but I think they'll go at Mania anyway.

I think the most likely will be HBK, though. And I'd have no problems whatsoever with a HBK vs. Undertaker main event.

Oh by the by, Bret Hart Signs with the WWE - Fri Jan 08, 2010 5:34 am

Mr Torrie Wilson wrote:I think the plan is Vince vs Bret in a streetfight.

I watched the show and agree it was completely surreal, but very cool, seeing Bret and Shawn/Vince in the ring together. Part of me was just waiting for someone, anyone, to screw the other. As bad as he would have come across, it would have been fucking hilarious if Bret broke script and just beat the shit out of either of them.

Other than that, I just can't get past how boring Raw was. And it's depressing that it's 2010 and this week in wrestling one company features Bret Hart, Degeneration-X and heel owner Vince McMahon while the competition's answer includes Hogan, Bischoff, the nWo and Ric Flair.

And speaking of DX, why is their entrance so shit now. You'd think thirteen years later they'd have made it even better, but it's no where near as good as it was back then.

In my day blah blah blah

Isn't their entrance exactly the same?

Never thought I'd see the day that Bret Hart would HUG Shawn Michaels. He hugged the guy!

And I'm counting on Bret vs. Vince in like a 5-10 minute street fight at Mania, with Bret just beating the shit out of Vince. I think it's something that most fans have been really dying to see.

They'll be lucky to break 1.0; they're up against Raw and some football game.

I don't think the college football game really matters, unless you're a fan of either of the 2 teams playing in the game. Not a lot of people care outside of the National Title game, being played on Thursday.

I think Hogan will draw in a huge number that first hour, but then once time for Raw rolls around, people will flock over to Raw. To me, TNA doesn't stand a chance, but that's just opinion.

TNA = 1.5-2.0 rating
Raw = 4.2-5.0 rating

I still think it'll be interesting to watch on Monday, though.

"Dr. Death" Steve Williams passes away at age 49 - Wed Dec 30, 2009 10:27 pm

lost his battle with cancer last night, passing away at the age of 49.

We will have more details as we receive them and would like to pass our deepest condolences out to the family, friends and fans of one hell of a great athlete.

Sad to hear. I think he wrestled a bit before my time, but I need to find some of his matches sometime.

I wouldn't care about the match, but I'd love to see what they'd do with a possible Bret and DX storyline, considering they'd probably go there.

The January 4th show is located in Dayton, Ohio.

Bret was always obsessed wih having a great match, so I very much doubt he'd go out and have a mediocre brawl. He'd feel it tarnish his legacy.

Obsessed with what he could never have...

Thats quite clearly a lie, read his book he carried every wrestler to their greatest match ever

I'll disagree that he carried everyone to their greatest matches, but he certainly did help. Davey Boy Smith, Owen Hart, Stone Cold, HBK, 123 Kid, Mr. Perfect, Roddy Piper. All those guys you could make a case that their best match or matches in their career were against the Hit Man. Bret Hart had a good chemistry with just about everyone he worked with, I think that tells you a lot about how good he was at telling a story in the ring.

Stig, you honestly think that Bret never had a great match?
