Public Enemies

Great movie. Depp's best ever performance. Action scenes are incredible. The cameras will likely put alot of people off though. I found that the handheld digital grade actually made the film more authentic, as the film felt like Mann took his crew and cast into a time machine. Thats how believable his 1933 looked. However at times, there were scenes that looked really amateur and hurt the film a bit. But over all I thought it was great.

I might have to check that out at the weekend. Been waiting for this for a while now.

Just finished watching Yes Man, and for once I wasn't screaming at the film for changing stuff from the book. Nice to see Danny Wallace pop up near the end too.

I thought it was great, as well. Depp has made himself a front-runner for Best Lead Actor this year, I thought he was great.

Away We Go
A really great movie with a lot of heart. John Krasinski and Maya Rudolph have tremendous on-screen chemistry and the script provides a lot of laughs. Also, the score is pretty sweet, too.

(500) Days of Summer
Saw a pre-screening of this last night. Very similar to Away We Go. Another indy love-story film, though this one is adamant about not being a love story. Again, great on-screen chemistry from Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. I enjoyed this one slightly more than Away We Go.

The international - not bad, the ending was clever but it sort of left me cold.

Nick & Noras Infinte Play List - more like Nick & Nora's Infinte Douch List! Michael Cera is just an interchangable twat, all his characters are the same.

Public Enemies- I thought it was good, although a few parts seemd to come more from the myth of Dillinger than from the true story.

Brüno - This film is absolute crazy. Crazier than Borat.

Adventureland

I managed to see this at my local film festival yesterday, and I couldn't believe how good it was. I was expecting dick jokes and instead got a very funny, charming, intelligent, and oddly enough kind of depressing film.

On the surface it is just a teenage summer movie, with the main character trying to get laid, but it is all just shell to cover up much deeper and depressing issues, like his fathers alcoholism, the fact that he cant go to a top university because he has no money and so on. It also very realistically leaves many issues unresolved.

Really fantastic film. Can't praise it more, though I do think that it wont be funny enough for some people.

Bruno

Eh. There were a few spots that were just absolutely hilarious, but it lacked a lot of what made Borat so funny. And there wasn't really a story at all.

Bruno

Pretty dissappointing to be honest. There were about 10 really good laughs in it, 5 of which were from the trailer. I laughed my ass off in one or two scenes, but overall I didn't think it was great. Had a much better time at The Hangover.

Good films...however they are too bloody long! I hadnt read the books though so I went into watching the trilogy with no knowledge of the stories, enjoyable, but 30 mins too long...all of them!

I only thinkg the 3rd one is too long, I would have cut loads of Frodos moaning! The third one is the weakest of the three for me, so much could have been done better.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

Very good film. Without a doubt the best of the series so far. Much more humor this time around, and it almost seemed more like a character study this time around. I felt much more connected with this one than any other. Plus, Emma Watson's acting didn't make me cringe and writhe in my seat, so that's always a plus. I will definitely be going to see it again.

Maybe Im still a little sore at how they treated Faramir in the film. In the book he's built up to be one of the wisest men in the world and Gandalfs best student who when Frodo offers him the ring he turns it down and in the film they completely forget that and have him basically try and take the ring.

That whole paragraph just looks geeky to me Crying or Very sad

I hate the way Tolkien fucked over Borimir! The guy who plays Faramir looking distrubingly like Jensen Button.

I'm fairly certain Chris and Stig are the same person. One makes a sub-par joke and the other congratulates them with an out-of-place emoticon.

Orphan

Just saw a midnight show of this. Certainly not going to be able to sleep tonight. It isn't a perfect movie, but it is one of the best thriller films I've seen in a long, long while.

The Hangover- pretty funny

The Watchmen- I was surprised how much I liked this. Maybe its because I never read the comic and dont have anything to compare it to but it was really good
